What You Can Expect from This Workshop
This is an educational program that equips an adult to help children deal with any loss.
This evidence-based group workshop is provided by an Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist,™ certified and trained by The Grief Recovery Institute®.
Your Advanced GRM Specialist™ will demonstrate all aspects found in the workbook, When Children Grieve, as well as how to apply this information in helping a child with their loss issues. All materials are included with your registration.
The process allows you to work through sample situations in active listening, and training for effective assistance for dealing with a child’s strong emotions.
While you may come into this program with a specific loss in mind, your Advanced GRM Specialist™ will help you examine all potential losses that could hurt a child’s heart.
You will work in a group setting with other adults - but learn how to work with children as individuals.
Group participation requires a weekly commitment to total honestly and absolute confidentiality, reading, homework completion, and a level of comfort sharing information about family dynamics. Family members who attend together may be placed in separate groups for group discussions. This offers the opportunity to process what you are learning individually.
